Denesia (Deni) Huttula

We believe Deni Huttula strengthens our ability to help others on the path to a deeper walk with God in the areas of discipleship, emotional healing, and family life.

Denesia Huttula (Deni) is obtaining her master’s in professional counseling with aspirations to become a Licensed Professional Counselor after graduation next year. She is passionate about understanding the effects trauma has on our relational and emotional systems in the brain and plans to specialize in treating people who have been impacted by trauma. She is currently enjoying establishing healing relationships with her Life Coaching clients and empowering them to get in touch with their emotions, build healthy relationships and learn to connect with their true selves.

She discovered attachment theory 24 years ago while pregnant with her first child. Since then she’s been applying the concepts of Dr. Sears, Dr. Schore, and Daniel Siegel in her own relationships with her children, husband, and other family and friends. Through this experiential learning, she has come to understand the importance attachment has on emotional regulation and is excited to be able to explore these lessons deeper while in graduate school.

For the past 10 years, she has discovered writing as an outlet and a tool for processing her own journey, as well as teaching others from the lessons she’s learned. From journaling to blogging, to writing and self-publishing, to now being published with Deeper Walk, she gets excited to be able to share her heart and the information she’s learned with others through this avenue. Her first book, The Bridges of Chara takes the principles of emotional regulation and the Life Model’s definition of joy and creates a story that helps even children begin to grasp and understand how emotions work and how we can work WITH them.

She has personally found that God understands how we are designed- and He knows exactly how to work within that system to help us heal. The discovery of how science is aligning with the experiences she has had with God in her own healing journey is fuel for her aspirations. She hopes to help shed some light on how the two go together in her future work as both a counselor and an author. Her latest book, The Author Still Speaks is just the beginning of her attempts to share the good news of how knowing God impacts our identity and emotional stability.
